Moments in Venice: J.Lo’s Iconic Madonna Reboot with Son Oskar

Jennifer Lopez might be a music icon in her own right, but she gave the Queen of Pop a sweet shout-out amid her European summer. The 57-year-old star is living la dolce vita during the Venice leg of her trip—and she recreated one of Madonna’s most recognizable music videos while singing and dancing on a gondola.

In a clip shared on August 2, Lopez could be seen paying tribute to Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” music video. Just like in the 1984 visual, the “On the Floor” singer captured herself lip syncing and dancing in the gondola as she drifted through the Italian city’s famed waterways. Lopez leaned into the performance in the selfie video, lifting one arm in the arm and whipping her sleek caramel-highlighted long hair from side to side as she belted out the ‘80s anthem.

The Office Romance actress wore a plunging white collared top with flowy elbow length sleeves, showing off a stack of gold bracelets and gold charm necklaces. Lopez finished off her look with her signature soft brown smoky eyeshadow, sculpted cheekbones, and a warm peach lip gloss.

“I had to do it…” she quipped in the clip’s caption.

Lopez, who recently celebrated her 57th birthday, is enjoying some downtime with her 18-year-old twins Oskar and Max Muniz before they head to college. A week after she was spotted exploring Rome with her kids, the mom-of-two enjoyed a special night out with Oskar at Da Ivo restaurant on Saturday.

In photos shared by the Daily Mail, Lopez wore a canary yellow halterneck maxidress with a plunging chest cutout. She pulled her long waves back into a low ponytail and carried a bedazzled clutch as she left the water taxi. Meanwhile, Oskar—who was previously known as Emme—went casual in a pair of baggy jeans and a white sleeveless top printed with floral designs.

Lopez recently opened up about her bittersweet emotions about becoming an empty nester during a May 27 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “I mean, it’s fine. I want them to be happy. Go where they want to go, do what they want to do,” she said as she fought back tears. “We’re going to pack up their rooms here, and they’re going to take all the things that they want to take to their dorm. Then they’re going to realize that their dorms are too small,” she continued. “They’re going to miss home. I hope they want to come back real soon.”

My list of must-try jean trends for 2026 is growing; it currently includes all the silhouettes one denim expert revealed to me as the must-watch of the year (save for baggy jeans, because I’ve been wearing those for years). The fact that Clooney wore flared jeans is noteworthy in and of itself. The human rights lawyer is known for her refined dressing approach, regularly opting for billowy trousers, trendy boho blouses, and comfy sweater dresses—all staples that read elegant and timeless. So, when I spotted her earlier this year in the laid-back blues while out to dinner with hubby George Clooney, I knew I had to write about it. Of course, the fact that she wore flare jeans, the style countless celebs have worn the last few weeks, is noteworthy, too, as it further cements the style’s ‘It’ status for 2026.
