Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have come remarkably close to another post-divorce encounter after the former couple were spotted at the same Los Angeles office building on Aug. 20.
According to photos reported by Just Jared, Lopez and Affleck were each seen at the West Hollywood complex that day.

Affleck's purple Cadillac was reportedly already parked nearby when Lopez arrived, meaning his presence may have been immediately apparent to her. However, there’s no evidence that the former spouses actually saw or spoke to one another.
The photographs show separate arrivals and departures rather than a confirmed meeting.
The office complex is also large, so while the timing makes a chance encounter possible, it’s equally plausible that the two went about their respective business without crossing paths.
Their latest sighting echoes a familiar pattern
This isn’t the first time Lopez and Affleck have found themselves working from the same Los Angeles building. In September 2024, shortly after Lopez filed for divorce, the singer and actress was photographed arriving at a building where both reportedly maintained offices.
Affleck was later seen leaving the location, again creating speculation about a possible encounter.
Their divorce was finalized in February 2025 after the pair reached a settlement. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the agreement in January, with their single status taking effect on Feb. 21.
Despite ending their marriage, Lopez and Affleck have shown that they can still appear together publicly when their professional and family lives overlap. Their clearest post-divorce reunion came in October 2025, when they posed together at the New York premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman.
Lopez stars in the film, while Affleck served as an executive producer through Artists Equity, the company he co-founded with Matt Damon.
That appearance was notably different from their latest office-building sighting. Lopez acknowledged Affleck during a red-carpet interview, and the former couple posed together for photographers.
Affleck also publicly praised her performance, calling her work in the movie something he was proud to be associated with.
Their connection has also continued through their children. Lopez has remained close with Affleck’s children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner, while Affleck has maintained a relationship with Lopez’s twins, whom she shares with Marc Anthony.
The former couple have been spotted attending events involving their children, suggesting that their post-divorce relationship has remained cordial.
Lopez has also spoken more openly about the emotional aftermath of their split. During a 2026 appearance on the SmartLess podcast, she reflected on the period following the divorce and described taking time to step back and figure herself out.
“There comes a point where it’s all so puzzling and wrong. Where you have to sit there. After my last divorce, I just sat there,” Lopez said.
“I canceled my tour and I sat there, and I was like, ‘You need fucking figure yourself out.’”
Given their complicated history, even an accidental near-miss is enough to attract attention.

My list of must-try jean trends for 2026 is growing; it currently includes all the silhouettes one denim expert revealed to me as the must-watch of the year (save for baggy jeans, because I’ve been wearing those for years). That said, one style that didn’t land on said aforementioned list, but is clearly due for big, big things this year, is flare jeans. With a growing list of celebrity fans that includes Meghan Markle, Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Cindy Crawford, Kendrick Lamar (you know that moment), and, of course, Amal Clooney, there’s no denying the retro denim style that was popular in the early aughts is back—and bigger than ever.
The fact that Clooney wore flared jeans is noteworthy in and of itself. The human rights lawyer is known for her refined dressing approach, regularly opting for billowy trousers, trendy boho blouses, and comfy sweater dresses—all staples that read elegant and timeless. So, when I spotted her earlier this year in the laid-back blues while out to dinner with hubby George Clooney, I knew I had to write about it. Of course, the fact that she wore flare jeans, the style countless celebs have worn the last few weeks, is noteworthy, too, as it further cements the style’s ‘It’ status for 2026.

Clooney opted for a pair of medium-wash jeans with subtle fading (another Y2K reference, IMO). Her blues had an ultra-high waist—so high, in fact, that they appeared to hit at the ribcage. It’s the complete opposite of the controversial low-rise denim, so it’s a possible sign that the high-high waist is coming back, too. Not to mention, Clooney’s jeans had a slightly oversized fit from the thighs to the ankles, but it’s that flared hem that has all my attention; it’s taking me back to my middle school days when I’d wear my True Religion flares every single day. (No joke.)

It’s undeniable that Clooney’s jeans have that nostalgic flair (ahem, flare, wink, wink), but it’s also undeniable that celebs are clamoring to the style because it’s incredibly flattering. The blues basically act like an optical illusion, making legs look super long, especially when paired with a style that has an extra-long hemline and sky-high platforms á la Lopez; the singer is 5-feet-5-inches, but don’t you agree with me that she looks way taller in these jeans? Yeah, that’s thanks to the flares. The flare hem and longer inseams help create the look of legs for days, but add in a high-waisted cut, platform heels, and a crop top, and you’ll fool people into thinking you’re inches taller.
Leg-elongating factor aside, there’s no denying that flares are fun and nostalgia-inducing—and that’s exactly what I need right now. So, shop some more fun, funky flares from Frame, NYDJ, and Mavi below.
