Daniel Radcliffe has just revealed one of the strangest Hollywood pitches he ever received—and Harry Potter fans are probably going to be very glad it never happened.
During an appearance on Hot Ones, Radcliffe was asked about the most bizarre ideas he had ever been offered. His answer? A plan to reunite the Harry Potter trio for a remake of The Wizard of Oz.
Yes, seriously.
According to Radcliffe, someone wanted him, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint to star together in a new version of the classic fantasy. Watson would play Dorothy, while Radcliffe was supposed to become the Cowardly Lion.
But that wasn’t even the strangest part.
Radcliffe revealed that his version of the Lion would apparently know karate, turning him into a bizarre “karate-kicking Cowardly Lion.” The actor admitted that even though he was only around 14 or 15 at the time, he immediately recognized that the idea was terrible.
“I don’t know a lot about the world, but this is a bad idea,” Radcliffe recalled thinking.
