Now, art from @danlev shows an AI-enhanced look at what a live-action Zelda cast could look like. The fan-casting included Tom Holland as Link, Emma Watson as the titular Zelda, Idris Elba as Ganon, Maisie Williams as Saria, Sadie Sink as Malon, Danny DeVito as Tingle, Meryl Streep as Twinrova, Jameela Jamil as Urbosa, Gemma Chan as Great Fairy, and Steve Buscemi as Dampe.
The images were rendered using AI to create a series of character posters that imagined each actor in their roles. Some characters blend in better than others in The Legend of Zelda art. Holland, for example, fits in swimmingly as Link, as does Watson the role of Zelda. Perhaps the most apt casting is DeVito as Tingle, who looks equal parts whimsical and amusing as the video game’s counterpart.

Wes Ball Is Set To Direct The Film
The Legend of Zelda movie has yet to be cast, but it is unlikely that the film would have such a huge team behind it. While the movie is high-profile, as it is adapting one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, packing a cast with Elba, Streep, Holland, and Watson all in one would be a big ask. Furthermore, several of these actors are getting busy in their days post Game of Thrones (in the case of Williams) or Spider-Man (Holland), so coordinating all of their schedules would be nightmarish.
In terms of what is known about the Legend of Zelda live-action film, the movie has a director confirmed. The director is slated to be Wes Ball, who recently helmed Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. A continuation of the Planet of the Apes franchise, Kingdom was fairly well-reviewed and had a respectable box office run where it brought in just shy of $400 million. Ball’s recent experience with such a high-profile and CGI-reliant blockbuster film will well-equip him for a project like The Legend of Zelda, which will also likely need CGI as a central visual element.
A release date for the Legend of Zelda movie has not yet been revealed. One of the main mysteries of the film remains whether Link, the central adventurer in the series, will finally speak in The Legend of Zelda film. Ball was coy about this answer when speaking about the film in an interview, neglecting to give a definitive answer or revealing much of the plot. As the Legend of Zelda movie continues production, more will be revealed whether any of these dream castings come true.
