Emma Watson makes revealing comments about Tom Felton

Accio tissues, Potterheads! Harry Potter fans have spent more than two decades shipping “Dramione,” but it turns out the off-screen chemistry was incredibly real for Emma Watson. In a heartwarming sneak peek at the upcoming Harry Potter th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, the actress recalled the exact moment she “fell in love” with her costar Tom Felton.

While their characters, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy, were bitter enemies in the halls of Hogwarts, things were much different behind the scenes. Watson was just years old when she started the franchise, while Felton was the “older” -year-old. The moment of realization happened during a school session on set, and the details are absolutely darling.

“I walked into the room where we were having tutoring,” Watson shared in the special. “The assignment that had been given was to draw what you thought God looked like, and Tom had drawn a girl with a backward cap on a skateboard.”

The Magic of Number Seven

That simple, rebellious sketch was all it took to cast a lifelong spell on the young actress.

“And I just don’t know how to say it – I just fell in love with him,” Watson admitted.

The crush was far from a passing phase. Watson went on to reveal that she would eagerly check the daily production schedules just to see if she would get to spend the day with her favorite Slytherin.

“I used to come in every day and look for his number on the call sheet,” she said, noting that his specific actor number was seven. “If his name was on the call sheet, it was an extra exciting day.”

A Lifelong Kinship

However, the three-year age gap meant that Felton did not initially see her in a romantic light. Instead, the actor viewed his young costar more like a sibling.

“I was very protective over her,” Felton shared, acknowledging that he was actually aware of her crush at the time. “I’ve always had a soft spot for her and that continues to this day.”

While the pair never officially dated, they have maintained an incredibly close, lifelong bond that Felton describes as a “kinship.” Over the years, fans on Instagram and TikTok have spent hours analyzing the duo’s cozy social media posts, which have featured everything from skateboarding lessons to matching pajama photos.

While they remain strictly friends, their undeniable chemistry is front and center in the new reunion special. In one particularly emotional moment, the two are seen sharing a warm, tearful embrace that is sure to leave fans everywhere reaching for a box of tissues.

The Return to Hogwarts special celebrates years since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone first hit theaters, bringing together the original trio of Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint. The highly anticipated reunion special premieres January on HBO Max.

Unexpected Team-Up: Prince William and Emma Watson Unite for Change

Prince William had plenty to celebrate this weekend, but his latest public appearance quickly turned heads for a very different reason. After marking his 44th birthday and Father's Day with his family, the future king returned to royal duties—and made a surprisingly personal confession about the emotional toll of climate change.

William joined Hollywood stars Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch at a United for Wildlife forum in London, an initiative he launched with the Royal Foundation in 2013. The organization works around the world to combat wildlife trafficking, environmental crime, and the destruction of endangered species.

But it was William's candid admission about his own fears that stole the spotlight.

The Prince of Wales revealed that climate change has caused him "sleepless nights," admitting he has struggled with anxiety about what the future could look like. Yet instead of allowing those fears to overwhelm him, William said seeing real progress through conservation efforts has helped keep his environmental anxiety under control.

He also delivered a powerful message to business leaders, urging them to become the kind of leaders they admired when they were children. With technology and innovation transforming the world at an incredible pace, William challenged CEOs to use their influence to create meaningful change.

The event launched London Climate Action Week, with more royal appearances expected, including the Earthshot Prize assembly.

Emma Watson also delivered a surprising revelation of her own. The Harry Potter star highlighted the fashion industry's enormous environmental impact, pointing out that it produces more emissions than aviation and ranks behind only oil among major polluting industries.

Watson, who is also pursuing a doctorate in philosophy at Oxford, shared a hilarious story about mistakenly believing paparazzi were following her. After spotting photographers with telephoto lenses, she arranged a distraction and escaped through another exit. The twist? They weren't photographing her at all. They were waiting to capture a red kite.

Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch praised William as "a great guy" and urged businesses and individuals to recognize that they can still make a difference, even when global environmental challenges appear overwhelming.

With William, Watson, and Cumberbatch joining forces on the issue, the London forum delivered a clear message: the fight against environmental destruction is becoming impossible for the world's biggest names to ignore.
