Disney's Five-Part Adventure Series Ranks Among Top Streaming Shows

Over the years, Disney has acquired the rights to some of the biggest franchises in the world. The first two that immediately come to mind are Marvel and Star Wars, which have each raked in billions of dollars at the box office and will continue to do so with more new releases this year. Disney also has a massive animation department that has expanded into delivering live-action adaptations of some of its most popular animated classics, but while this method has mostly been a financial success, it’s still viewed as quite polarizing by fans who hold the animated films near to their heart. Disney will return to the world of live-action remakes this summer with a new Moana movie, which will be the third installment in the Moana franchise. After Moana 2 grossed over $1 billion at the box office in 2024, the live-action film is expected to be a massive hit.

However, one of Disney’s more underrated franchises that’s quietly been put on ice for now is Indiana Jones. The first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, was released back in 1981, and with Harrison Ford in the leading role and Steven Spielberg behind the camera, the film grossed nearly $400 million at the box office. This was also on an $18 million budget, and when factoring in inflation, Raiders of the Lost Ark’s $389 million box office total equals over $1.4 billion, which would make it one of the highest-grossing movies of all time. In America, the first four Indiana Jones movies are streaming on Disney+ and Paramount+, while the fifth film is only available on Disney+, but every movie is in the streaming top 10 in at least one country.

What Happens in the Indiana Jones Movies?

The first Indiana Jones movie follows the famous archaeologist as he searches for the Ark of the Covenant, and The Temple of Doom turns back the clock two years, where he’s tasked with reclaiming a sacred stone stolen from an Indian village. In the 1989 threequel, Indy reunites with his father (played by Sean Connery) to pursue the Holy Grail, and in the polarizing 2008 legacy sequel, he’s called back into action to search for the Crystal Skulls. The final Indiana Jones movie, The Dial of Destiny, follows Indy as he searches for an artifact that could change the course of history.

Unexpected Team-Up: Prince William and Emma Watson Unite for Change

Prince William had plenty to celebrate this weekend, but his latest public appearance quickly turned heads for a very different reason. After marking his 44th birthday and Father's Day with his family, the future king returned to royal duties—and made a surprisingly personal confession about the emotional toll of climate change.

William joined Hollywood stars Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch at a United for Wildlife forum in London, an initiative he launched with the Royal Foundation in 2013. The organization works around the world to combat wildlife trafficking, environmental crime, and the destruction of endangered species.

But it was William's candid admission about his own fears that stole the spotlight.

The Prince of Wales revealed that climate change has caused him "sleepless nights," admitting he has struggled with anxiety about what the future could look like. Yet instead of allowing those fears to overwhelm him, William said seeing real progress through conservation efforts has helped keep his environmental anxiety under control.

He also delivered a powerful message to business leaders, urging them to become the kind of leaders they admired when they were children. With technology and innovation transforming the world at an incredible pace, William challenged CEOs to use their influence to create meaningful change.

The event launched London Climate Action Week, with more royal appearances expected, including the Earthshot Prize assembly.

Emma Watson also delivered a surprising revelation of her own. The Harry Potter star highlighted the fashion industry's enormous environmental impact, pointing out that it produces more emissions than aviation and ranks behind only oil among major polluting industries.

Watson, who is also pursuing a doctorate in philosophy at Oxford, shared a hilarious story about mistakenly believing paparazzi were following her. After spotting photographers with telephoto lenses, she arranged a distraction and escaped through another exit. The twist? They weren't photographing her at all. They were waiting to capture a red kite.

Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch praised William as "a great guy" and urged businesses and individuals to recognize that they can still make a difference, even when global environmental challenges appear overwhelming.

With William, Watson, and Cumberbatch joining forces on the issue, the London forum delivered a clear message: the fight against environmental destruction is becoming impossible for the world's biggest names to ignore.
