Robert Rinder announces death of his father David: ‘Lewy body dementia took him far too young’

Robert Rinder has announced that his father, David Rinder, has died aged 73 after living with Lewy body dementia.

The author, TV judge and criminal barrister shared the news on Instagram. He wrote: “My dad died yesterday aged 73. I wasn’t sure whether to share this but if it brings attention to an illness too few people understand, perhaps it belongs here.”

Rob has been open about his father’s Lewy body dementia and the emotional impact of the illness. He also supports the Lewy Body Society as a patron and advocate.

Rob Rinder calls for Lewy body dementia awareness

Rob used his announcement to highlight how many people live with the condition. He told followers that Lewy body dementia affects at least one in 10 people with dementia. That represents around 125,000 people in the UK, he said.

Despite those figures, Rob described the illness as “poorly understood, frequently missed and desperately under-researched”. He urged people to learn its name and signs, as well as support work to improve research and understanding where possible.

Reflecting on David’s experience, he said the condition had turned familiar things strange and brought uncertainty into his life.

However, Rob stressed: “Dementia can obscure a person but it does not erase them.”

Rob shares memories of his dad

David drove a London black cab for more than 40 years and remained a lifelong Tottenham Hotspur supporter. Rob recalled how his father attended his brothers’ and grandsons’ football matches.

Rob said his parents separated during his childhood, meaning his father did not live in the family home as he grew up. He also acknowledged the differences between them.

He wrote: “We were very different men. I loved opera and all its drama; he loved Tottenham and cigarettes.”

Rob said he always knew that David felt proud of him. When the presenter came out, his father responded with what Rob called “magnificent indifference”. In David’s eyes, Rob remained his son and nothing more needed to be said.

The TV star also shared an affectionate story from David’s years behind the wheel. Rob said: “I once represented him at the Carriage Office for bad driving; I loved him but the prosecution had a case…”

His tribute painted a warm and honest picture of their relationship while drawing attention to the condition that affected David during his final years.

Victor Reveals John’s Secret Evidence—Billy Loses Everything in Court! Y&R Spoilers

Genoa City could be heading toward a devastating courtroom showdown as Victor Newman allegedly reveals secret evidence connected to John Abbott, leaving Billy Abbott fighting for his future. What begins as a legal battle could quickly become a turning point for the Abbott family.

Billy may enter the courtroom believing he still has a chance.

He could have spent days preparing his defense, confident that the evidence already available will be enough to protect him.

But Victor may have one final surprise.

At a critical moment, Victor could reveal evidence connected to John that nobody expected to see.

The courtroom could immediately fall silent.

Billy may be completely blindsided.

He could demand to know why the evidence was hidden until now.

Victor, however, may insist that he waited for the right moment.

The evidence could reveal something about John’s past that changes the entire case.

Billy may realize that Victor has been holding a powerful card all along.

His attorney could attempt to challenge the evidence.Y&R Spoilers: Billy Loses Abbott Communications – Victor Obsession Costs Him Everything! - Soap Opera Spy

But the judge may allow it to be considered.

That could completely change the direction of the hearing.

Billy’s confidence could quickly disappear.

He may look toward his family for support, but even they could struggle to understand what is happening.

The evidence could also raise questions about Billy’s own decisions.

Victor may argue that Billy cannot be trusted with the power and responsibilities he is fighting to protect.

Billy could insist that Victor is manipulating the court.

But the evidence may appear convincing.

As the proceedings continue, the pressure on Billy could become unbearable.

Lily may also find herself caught in the middle.

She could know information that might help Billy, but revealing it could expose another devastating secret.

Her decision could have serious consequences for everyone involved.

Meanwhile, Victor may remain confident.A YouTube thumbnail with maxres quality

He could believe that once the truth about John is exposed, Billy’s position will collapse.

The final ruling could leave Billy devastated.

He may lose control of an important asset, business interest, or family position.

But the emotional damage could be even greater.

Billy may feel that his father’s legacy has been used against him.

He could vow to fight back rather than accept defeat.

Victor may believe he has won.

However, one final discovery could suggest that the evidence itself has a hidden complication.

Billy may eventually find a way to challenge Victor’s version of events.

That could set up another explosive legal battle.

Victor’s alleged revelation of John’s secret evidence could turn Billy’s courtroom battle into a devastating defeat. If Billy loses everything he has fought to protect, the Abbott-Newman rivalry could enter an entirely new and dangerous chapter.
