The world of celebrity friendships can be incredibly fickle, and Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is pointing out the hierarchy in the most savage way possible. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Bravo star openly mocked her failed friendship with Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, making it clear that she knows exactly where she stands on their social ladder.
Lala and her ex-fiancé, Randall Emmett, once enjoyed a brief, high-profile friendship with MGK and Megan. The couples bonded while the rock star and actress were filming Randall’s directorial debut movie, Midnight in the Switchgrass.
However, now that the movie is behind them, Megan and MGK have moved on to double-dating with Hollywood royalty. Lala has definitely taken notice of the shift, especially when it comes to Megan’s highly publicized friendship with Kourtney Kardashian.
Sarcastic Swipes and Social Climbing
When host Andy Cohen asked about the status of her former friendship with the famous couple, Lala did not hold back her signature sarcasm.
“Well, they want to be more like — they want to be hanging with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, rather than Lala Kent and Randall Emmett,” Lala joked.
She also reflected on how the friendship began, noting that the couple actually went public with their romance on her own podcast. “I don’t think [Machine Gun Kelly] likes being attached,” Lala explained. “They came out as a couple on our podcast and I think it sounded fun.”
Shunning the Film and Shading the Project
The friendship originally turned sour around the release of Midnight in the Switchgrass. Despite falling in love on the set, both Megan and MGK seemingly shunned the project, refusing to attend the premiere or help promote it.
MGK even took to social media to throw major shade at the film. In an Instagram Live, he distanced himself from the project, saying, “I am an actor in a film. That means I don’t name shit. I don’t have anything to do with production. I’m not the director and it’s not my film. I’m just the actor. I would never act in something that I didn’t believe in except…”
Megan could be heard laughing in the background of the live stream before stopping him from finishing his sentence. MGK later tweeted, “If i don’t talk or tweet about a movie i’m barely in it’s because it’s [trash emoji].”
Lala admitted to Andy Cohen that she found the public behavior incredibly hurtful. “I thought the tweet was extremely mean,” Lala said. “Save the mean stuff like that for us reality TV stars.”
However, she did reveal that the musician eventually tried to make amends behind the scenes. “He did send Randall a text that said that he apologizes and the movie was great so he redeemed himself,” she shared.
The Ultimate Irony
The fallout has sparked a massive wave of reactions across X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, with fans pointing out the ultimate irony of the situation. Last year, Lala’s Vanderpump Rules co-star Scheana Shay publicly blasted Lala, accusing her of skipping out on supporting her during a miscarriage to go double-dating with Megan and MGK instead.
With Lala and Scheana now back on good terms, fans are finding humor in how quickly the Hollywood circle turned. “Scheana must be laughing so hard at this,” one fan wrote on X. “Lala chose Hollywood stars over her real friend, and they ditched her for the Kardashians anyway.”
As Megan and MGK continue to dominate headlines with Kourtney and Travis, Lala is making it clear she is perfectly fine staying in her own lane—even if she has to throw a little signature Bravo shade to do it.
The Revenge of Jennifer's Body: Sequel Set to Shock Hollywood
The cult classic Jennifer’s Body is finally getting the comeback fans have been waiting for. More than a decade after its original release was misunderstood and dismissed by much of Hollywood, the horror comedy is now heading toward a potential sequel, giving longtime fans a reason to celebrate.
Director Karyn Kusama recently revealed that Diablo Cody, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind the original film, is working on a new script for 20th Century Studios. Kusama described the project as “fun and crazy,” suggesting that the follow-up could preserve the strange combination of horror, comedy, friendship, and female rage that made the original so memorable.
The news represents a remarkable turnaround for a movie that was once considered a major disappointment. When Jennifer’s Body arrived in theaters, its marketing campaign heavily emphasized Megan Fox’s appearance rather than the sharp writing and complicated themes at the heart of Cody’s screenplay. The result was a movie that struggled commercially and failed to receive the appreciation it would eventually earn.
Over the years, however, Jennifer’s Body found an entirely new audience. Younger viewers discovered the film through streaming services and social media, particularly TikTok, where discussions about its feminist themes and portrayal of female friendship helped transform its reputation.
What was once dismissed as a failed horror movie gradually became recognized as a clever and subversive story about jealousy, manipulation, friendship, sexuality, and the pressures placed on young women. The renewed appreciation has turned Jennifer’s Body into one of the most notable examples of a movie being rediscovered and reinterpreted by a new generation.
A sequel would also represent an important moment for Megan Fox. Kusama has previously defended the actress and criticized the way Hollywood treated her during the original film’s release. Fox’s appearance and celebrity status often overshadowed her acting ability, despite the fact that her portrayal of Jennifer Check required her to balance humor, vulnerability, menace, and supernatural horror.
Fox has since spoken more openly about the difficult experiences she faced during the early years of her career. Returning to the world of Jennifer’s Body could therefore become a powerful opportunity to reclaim a character that was once unfairly reduced to a stereotype.
Diablo Cody’s involvement is another reason for excitement. Her distinctive writing style helped make the original film memorable, particularly through its sarcastic humor and complicated female characters. If she returns to the same universe, fans can expect the sequel to retain the unconventional personality that separated Jennifer’s Body from typical horror movies.
Kusama’s description of the new project as “fun and crazy” has already sparked speculation about the possible storyline. Fans are wondering whether Jennifer Check could somehow return, whether the sequel could introduce a new supernatural threat, or whether it might explore the consequences of the events in the original film.
Whatever direction the story takes, the timing feels almost perfect. The movie that Hollywood once overlooked has become a beloved cult classic, and the return of its original creative team could give Jennifer’s Body the second chance it always deserved.
If Megan Fox officially returns as Jennifer Check, the sequel could become more than another horror franchise installment. It could be the ultimate comeback story for a character, an actress, and a film that audiences were simply not ready to appreciate the first time around.
