Shortly after the news of their impending divorce broke, a source told People that the couple–who share daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes–are still “friends and all about the kids" as they navigate their breakup.
“No matter what's going on right now, it seems they will remain close," the insider revealed, adding, "If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of some hateful drama.”
Instead, it seems like difficulty in “keep[ing] the spark” alive might have led to their marriage’s demise. Alba previously said their dynamic was like “roommates” during her April 2024 appearance on Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt's BDA Baby podcast.
“It’s all rosy for 2.5 years, but then after that, you become roommates,” she said about how her marriage had evolved. “You’re just going through the motions. It’s the responsibility. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes.”
She admitted that the comfort of knowing the person isn’t “going anywhere” sometimes leads you to take them for granted. “You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings,” she continued. “So that is something that I think is a constant one to work on.
