In a candid new interview with Collider, Lawrence revealed that her first day of filming involved a highly physical, intense sequence where she and Pattinson were “taring each other’s clothes off and thrashing around.”

Ramsay echoed the sentiment, admitting that while the move was “risky,” it paid off by creating an immediate, authentic chemistry between the characters, Grace and Jackson. “I’m throwing them into the deep end, but I’m also throwing myself in here,” Ramsay shared. “But it really worked. You could just feel this real couple.”
The film follows Lawrence’s character, Grace, as she spirals into isolation and madness in the countryside. The role is a heavy one, and Lawrence credited a very famous friend for getting her involved: Martin Scorsese.
The legendary director, who produced Die My Love, personally called Lawrence to tell her she “needed” to make this movie. “I love that for me too,” Lawrence quipped about receiving calls from the Goodfellas icon. “I don’t even think one is supposed to be able to digest that kind of information.”
Working with Ramsay has been a dream come true for the Hunger Games alum, who is currently taking “notes” as she prepares to eventually step behind the camera herself. Lawrence admitted she spent her time on set watching Ramsay and cinematographer Seamus McGarvey like a hawk.
“I told Lynne that she is my role model. She’s my idol,” Lawrence said. “Liking it and actually having the ability [to direct] will be a different story… I would love to be able to do that, but I think I’ll just have to strive for it.”
Fans of J.Law won’t have to wait long for her next big project. She is already preparing to star in Scorsese’s upcoming film What Happens at Night, where she will reunite with her Don’t Look Up co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
While she admits to feeling “nervous” about working with the “Maestro” Scorsese as a director, she’s glad to have a familiar face by her side. “I’m grateful that I have a partner in Leo, who has so much experience with Marty,” she said.
