Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About Her Fear of Flying and Its Shocking Cause

Jennifer Aniston may spend her life jet-setting from red carpets in Paris to film sets in Hawaii, but the Morning Show star just revealed that getting there hasn’t always been easy.

In a surprisingly vulnerable new interview with Travel + Leisure, the -year-old icon confessed that she has struggled with a deep-seated “extreme fear” of flying. For years, the actress dealt with aerophobia so intense it sparked a series of rigid, high-stakes superstitions every time she stepped onto a jet.

The news quickly caught fire on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, with fans praising the actress for her honesty. “If Rachel Green can fly to Paris, I can make it through my flight to Chicago!” joked one fan, while others shared their own tips for mid-air anxiety.

To reclaim her peace of mind at , feet, Aniston turned to a professional solution: hypnosis.

“I have been doing some hypnosis lately, and one of the requirements is to remove all of those superstitions,” Aniston shared. She admitted that she used to have a specific ritual involving her right hand and right foot, but thanks to the sessions, she’s finally letting go.

The results? “It’s shockingly good!” she raved.

Aside from hypnosis, the LolaVie founder has developed a holistic toolkit for staying calm in the clouds. She swears by “plugging into a good meditation” and making sure to stretch and move her body throughout the duration of the flight.

But the plane ride isn’t the only thing giving the Friends alum pre-travel jitters. Aniston also admitted she is a “notorious over-packer” who struggles to edit down her wardrobe before a big trip.

“I’ve been trying so hard to become an under-packer,” she admitted with a laugh. “You just don’t know where you’re going to be on a certain day, or what mood you’re going to be in.”

Luckily for her inner circle, her “just-in-case” packing style makes her the ultimate travel companion. “My girlfriends really appreciate me because they can usually borrow all of my things that they have forgotten,” she quipped. “I’m providing a service!”

Despite her phobia, Aniston remains a firm believer that seeing the world is worth the effort. She noted that travel “expands our awareness greater than what we’re confined to.”

While she’s mastering the art of the airport, the actress is also busy proving that she’s never looked better. The revelation about her travel fears comes on the heels of a stunning new photoshoot for her vegan haircare line, LolaVie.

Photographed by Norman Jean Roy, Aniston showed off her famously toned physique in a series of high-fashion looks, including a floor-length ruched black gown and a sultry burgundy mini-dress with a thigh-high slit.

Of course, her signature blonde locks were styled to perfection in soft, elegant layers—the very look that made her a global beauty icon decades ago.

Her “killer physique” isn’t just luck, either. Jen recently took to Instagram to show off her intense Pvolve workout, a low-impact, high-resistance method that keeps her camera-ready and, apparently, ready to take on any flight that comes her way!

Jennifer Aniston and Friends Show Off Stunning Summer Styles

These days, when people say something is basic, they don’t always mean it in a flattering way. But when it comes to wardrobe staples, basic is anything but boring. Just look at the ways Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, and Joanna Gaines have been wearing them.

All three stars recently wore mix-and-match pieces that are the foundation of any great capsule wardrobe. Aniston paired vintage-wash jeans with a fitted black tank for a sleek, casual look, and Garner dressed up light-wash jeans with a luxe-looking, short-sleeve polo shirt. As for Gaines, she went monochromatic in black jeans and a loose-fitting tank.

Jennifer Aniston’s Minimalist Masterclass

Aniston’s minimalist tank top and jeans combo is a go-to for her, and we can see why. To recreate her effortless ensemble, we found this Quince tank top with a modest scoop neck, fitted silhouette, and thick straps. It’s made of breathable cotton that’s lightweight enough for summer but can also be layered in the fall and winter. Team it with this pair of jeans, which has a vintage-inspired wash similar to the actress’s. The wide-leg style makes them a comfortable choice whether you’re running errands or heading to lunch.

Jennifer Garner’s Polished Polo

If your style favors classic silhouettes, Jennifer Garner’s sunset look belongs in your closet. Her timeless polo shirt looks nearly identical to this Quince one, which is made of soft, luxe cashmere. It has ribbed, fitted arms, a mid-sized collar, and an adjustable button-front neckline. Shoppers say it’s “lightweight enough for warm weather,” with one noting they “didn’t feel hot at all” wearing it on a 90-degree day. When it comes to her jeans, this lightwash pair is a great option with its subtle heathering at the hips and traditional five-pocket design. The barrel silhouette isn’t overwhelming, and reviewers call them “comfortable in all the right places.”

Joanna Gaines’ Black Basics

Basics are timeless, but that doesn’t mean they can’t also feel modern. Gaines’ monochromatic look proves that. Like this Quince top, her tank has a breezier fit with a subtle curve along the arms, and yes, while it looks good on its own, it’s also great for styling under linen button downs in summer and cardigans come fall. Our personal favorite piece of her look, though, is the sleek, flared jeans. Achieve the same style with Quince’s Luna pair, which mirrors Gaines’ silhouette and has built-in stretch for comfortable, all-day wear and a just-right mid-rise fit.
