For Jones, the film was more than just a job; it was a soul-searching moment. “I think definitely Like Crazy was quite a moment of feeling, ‘Oh, this,’” she shared. “I very much had wanted to do that kind of work.”
The actress explained that she grew up obsessed with independent cinema, and landing a role that mirrored those gritty, emotional stories was a breakthrough. “That film suddenly felt like, ‘Oh, I’m sort of doing what I was planning to do.’ Probably with that film it felt like everything sort of came together in the right way.”

Just three years later, she found herself at the Academy Awards as a Best Actress nominee for her role as Jane Hawking.
