Dolly Parton Responds to Jennifer Aniston’s Remake—A Cameo in Sight?

Dolly Parton is clocking out of the acting game for the upcoming to remake, but she’s doing it with her signature wit and a whole lot of love for Jennifer Aniston.

Ever since news broke in April that Aniston’s Echo Films is reimagining the workplace classic—with a script by Oscar winner Diablo Cody—fans have been desperate to know if the original trio would return.

While the “Jolene” singer, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin have spent years trying to get a sequel off the ground, Dolly has finally confirmed that they likely won’t be appearing in this new “reimagining.”

“We have no plans to be in that,” the country legend recently told HuffPost, effectively breaking the internet’s heart.

But in true Dolly fashion, her reasoning is both relatable and hilarious. The -year-old icon joked that she’s perfectly happy to leave the screen time to the next generation.

“I think a lot of it is that, you know, we’re all older now,” she quipped. “We’re not gonna look that good on the big screen. All of us up there with all those beautiful, young, fresh people… so I don’t know.”

Despite the lack of a cameo, Dolly has already given the project her stamp of approval after getting an early look at the script.

She described the new version as a “really good” and “different take” that updates the office dynamic for the modern world.

And while she might not be putting on the heels to play Doralee Rhodes again, she’s more than ready to provide the soundtrack.

Dolly shared that she and Jennifer have been “friends through the years,” and she has already offered up her musical services to the Friends alum.

“I told her, I said, ‘You’re more than welcome to use my song ” to ,” and if you need some additional songs, or if you need the ” to ” song rewritten or reworked, you know, to do that,'” she revealed.

As for who will step into her iconic role? Dolly doesn’t have a specific name in mind, but she has total faith in Jennifer’s casting choices.

“I’m sure that they’ll find some great person,” she said. “I don’t have anyone myself in mind for it, but there’s somebody out there.”

This isn’t the only classic project Dolly is currently shepherding back to life. The star, who was an uncredited producer on the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is also gearing up for that show’s highly anticipated reboot.

“I will be as involved as I need to be, or as I can be,” she stated of the Buffy project. “I don’t know yet, but I’m excited about the fact that they’re bringing that back.”

Whether it’s slaying vampires or tackling the corporate world, Dolly Parton remains the ultimate boss—even if she’s doing it from the recording studio this time around.

Jennifer Aniston and Friends Show Off Stunning Summer Styles

These days, when people say something is basic, they don’t always mean it in a flattering way. But when it comes to wardrobe staples, basic is anything but boring. Just look at the ways Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, and Joanna Gaines have been wearing them.

All three stars recently wore mix-and-match pieces that are the foundation of any great capsule wardrobe. Aniston paired vintage-wash jeans with a fitted black tank for a sleek, casual look, and Garner dressed up light-wash jeans with a luxe-looking, short-sleeve polo shirt. As for Gaines, she went monochromatic in black jeans and a loose-fitting tank.

If you’re also now inspired to upgrade your own staples, keep scrolling for lookalike Quince clothing pieces starting at $16.

Jennifer Aniston’s Minimalist Masterclass

Aniston’s minimalist tank top and jeans combo is a go-to for her, and we can see why. To recreate her effortless ensemble, we found this Quince tank top with a modest scoop neck, fitted silhouette, and thick straps. It’s made of breathable cotton that’s lightweight enough for summer but can also be layered in the fall and winter. Team it with this pair of jeans, which has a vintage-inspired wash similar to the actress’s. The wide-leg style makes them a comfortable choice whether you’re running errands or heading to lunch.

Jennifer Garner’s Polished Polo

If your style favors classic silhouettes, Jennifer Garner’s sunset look belongs in your closet. Her timeless polo shirt looks nearly identical to this Quince one, which is made of soft, luxe cashmere. It has ribbed, fitted arms, a mid-sized collar, and an adjustable button-front neckline. Shoppers say it’s “lightweight enough for warm weather,” with one noting they “didn’t feel hot at all” wearing it on a 90-degree day. When it comes to her jeans, this lightwash pair is a great option with its subtle heathering at the hips and traditional five-pocket design. The barrel silhouette isn’t overwhelming, and reviewers call them “comfortable in all the right places.”

Joanna Gaines’ Black Basics

Basics are timeless, but that doesn’t mean they can’t also feel modern. Gaines’ monochromatic look proves that. Like this Quince top, her tank has a breezier fit with a subtle curve along the arms, and yes, while it looks good on its own, it’s also great for styling under linen button downs in summer and cardigans come fall. Our personal favorite piece of her look, though, is the sleek, flared jeans. Achieve the same style with Quince’s Luna pair, which mirrors Gaines’ silhouette and has built-in stretch for comfortable, all-day wear and a just-right mid-rise fit.
